Overland Park residents are responsible for arranging and
paying for their own regular trash service by themselves or through a homes
association.
Trash should be placed at the curb on the day of collection (not in the street or sidewalk) or at the front line of their home (ex: in front of the garage door) provided it is not more than 50 feet from the street. Your trash hauler is required to pick up trash from the front of your home at no additional fee.
Household hazardous material must be disposed of separately.
Overland Park permits trash haulers after reviewing their insurance and inspecting their trucks. Many of these haulers offer service to limited areas of the city.
More information can be found in our household trash brochure.
