Changing the present ~ changing the future
A panel of judges selected winners - "Best in Show," "Youth" and first and second place - based on overall quality, content and representation of the essence of the two categories:
Naturally Green ~ There are many natural places, including streams, urban forests, native prairies, outdoor learning centers, trails and living roofs that help make up the landscape of the city. These resources keep water clean, provide shade, animal habitat, reduce urban heat effect and provide a place for residents connect with nature.
Green in Action ~ Submit photos of how you, your neighbors or your community are making OP a better place to live. Helping an elderly neighbor, composting leaves, recycling, riding a bike to work, picking up trash, installing energy efficient light bulbs, reducing water use, making a rain barrel and planting a rain/vegetable garden are just a few examples of sustainability in action.
